Hobbs patent sling on fire with olive oil

Hi to all
Someone on the forum has recommended to me to try to roast a nice pair of shoes using the olive oil
So I took a pair of elegant Hobbs Sling (made in genuine patent leather) and then I put a shoe on fire and the other on a skewer making sure to cover the poor shoe with olive oil....
what do you think?

It looks like the olive oil made it look like the burning was slower than when using combustibles like lighter fluid. I Think olive oil look better!
