Always wondered why they do this (not that I'm complaining!) - after all, most of their customers would do anything to avoid them getting wet.

I think many of the shoe designers are people like us. Over the years I've read quotes from them here and there. I think Louboutin, Manolo, and maybe others, about heels getting wet and worn, etc. I mean, if they were in it purely for the money, they coulda made sneakers and sold a lot more pairs, right?
