Re: burning used shoes
It is sad that people feel they have to incinerate once loved items to stay warm, like burning their heritage.
But I wonder at the bit that says it is cheaper than wood, as we know from many videos shoes burn quite quickly and so the heat produced will not last long, also once they have been consumed by the flames they are gone and cannot be burnt again.
A good sized log will last a lot longer but I realise it maybe harder to get hold of. I am not sure what the answer is but burning their precious pretty shoes is not the answer I am sure.
Not only do they loose one more connection to what made them who they are, but the heat will be short lived and minimal not to mention the potential for toxic fumes in an enclosed and possibly poorly ventilated space.
