What tasty morsels for the truck to eat, those pretty helpless pumps about to be consumed and squished into the general mulch of the garbage.
I think of them a bit like a treat for your cat or dog. They get the general every day food to eat, but if they are good they get a tasty snack! I think the poor pumps are like a special tasty treat for the garbage truck that it can savour and chew down on to get maximum juicy goodness from.

Fantasy aside, I would love to see the state of some of these helpless shoes and boots when they come out the othe end, to look at how crushed and broken they are and just how dirty and wet being in the trucks I terror makes them? Are they able to be washed off and still worn or have they totally been destroyed, heels bent and twisted, shanks broken off and snapped, uppers ripped away from the sole, etc. Just to see how bad the damage to the little shoe or boot is. Also do some types survive better, for example does a sturdy work boot survive better than a cute heel or ballet pump, does a sneaker survive best of all or are their soft uppers easily ripped or dissolved away? In effect which is the sturdious of shoes to survive such brutal treatment?

Please can someone recover mashed shoes from the truck when it is emptied so we can see? Thanks.

Never tried garbage truck. But from my observation, a soft, less constructed shoe usually survives better than a hard sturdy one.
While a tough boot with proper shank and support lasts longer in regular wear, it also limits your foot movement and decreases bending wear. The truck hydraulics will overpower it regardless, and it doesn't fare deforming as well as soft flats or sneakers. Keds and Vans seem to survive exceptionally well in a dump.

Any photos of previously garbage truck or other dump crusher mulched high heels and other shoes? Would love to see pictures of HH pumps after going through the crusher and garbage truck especially alongside others like riding boots, work boots, trainers, flats etc. Just to see how mashed they get.

Any further pictures or videos?

Really want to see some shots of the shoes after the garbage truck experience, when they have been flattened and pressed down I to all that filth. What do the once beautiful favourite heels look like after that treatment?

What would be really good would be to see these poor old crushed and filthy shoes reunited with their previous owner so that she could see what her actions had done to her once beautiful shoes.

Maybe make her try to wear them again for a day in the office or whatever so people could see how cruel she had been.

On a lot of those it's usually hard since they end up being dumped out with all the other stuff.

There are some channels that do hydraulic press and those have been cool.

I think that there is a subtle difference though I. That the hydraulic press can be aimed directly at the heel or toe or where ever and they do an excellent job of crushing it flat, but not the rest of the shoe. Also they are clean.

Part of the appeal of the garbage truck is what I think of as mulch. The poor once loved shoe is pressed into the grime and filth and mixed around in it whilst being squashed and potentially crushed to a pulp. Probably bent heels and shanks, maybe torn toe box or other uppers but still recognisable as a shoe or boot, just mucky and mashed as opposed to obliterated.

That is what I am looking to see, how much a once loved shoe/boot falls out of favour and becomes like a tattered reminder of past glory, as opposed to a totally obliterated shattered mess from the hydraulic press. Both are exciting and worth seeing but the crushing outcome is subtlety different,
